Diploma in Unani Medicine
In the first year, students will study Unani theory at a deeper level including practical applications of this medicine, preparing the individual to become a skilled practitioner.
In the second half of the first year, students enhance the knowledge and skills they acquired in the previous modules to take a more client-centred approach. Topics including herb identification and preparation, herb energetics, and introduction to Unani formulations will be covered. Therapies that include eastern nutrition and food energetics and treatment with diet will also be covered and different types of cupping, fasd (pricking), and the benefits and types of body work will be discussed. Specific symptoms and conditions are explored with a view to learning how to successfully maintain your client’s health and treat diseases. Students will also start their own individual cases studies.
